Language and Educational Language Policy in Childhood Education: Pre-primary and Primary Education

After a twenty-year decline in the birth rate, the 2016 Macau bycensus recorded an increase in the birth rate and in the number of residents who are eligible for pre-primary and primary (PPP) education. The usual language of PPP students is predominantly Cantonese (89.47%), but this proportion represents a slight decline over the past 20 years.
