Primary Effusion Lymphoma [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, 2013
Primary effusion lymphoma is a large cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma localized predominantly in body cavities and occasionally in extracavitary regions. It presents with characteristic lymphomatous effusions in the absence of solid tumor masses, and pleural, peritoneal, and pericardial spaces are most often involved.

Primary Effusion Lymphoma

open access: yesThe Oncologist, 2007
Abstract Primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) is a rare HIV-associated non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) that accounts for approximately 4% of all HIV-associated NHL. PEL has a unique clinical presentation in having a predilection for arising in body cavities such as the pleural space, pericardium, and peritoneum.

Without a silhouette

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, 2021
Primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) is a kind of malignant lymphoma that develops without a tumor mass. A fluid smear is of no use for the diagnosis of miscellaneous condition. Repeated cell‐block smear with immunostaining is useful for the diagnosis of PEL.
