Characterization of the key membrane protein cytochrome Cyc2 from Ghiorsea bivora

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study reports the first detailed biochemical analysis of Cyc2TAG1_1, a cytochrome protein involved in microbial iron oxidation. We produced and purified this enzyme in E. coli, then measured its iron‐oxidizing efficiency, and characterized its electrical and structural properties.

Unraveling 4‐Phenylbutyrate's Therapeutic Role in SLC6A1 Disorders: Pharmacochaperoning Over HDAC Inhibition

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Variants in SLC6A1, encoding the GABA transporter 1 (GAT‐1), cause epilepsy, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental delay via loss of GABA uptake, impaired trafficking, and ER retention. We previously found that 4‐Phenylbutyrate (PBA), an FDA‐approved drug, restores GABA uptake and reduces seizures in SLC6A1‐related disorders ...

Solar Induced Fluorescence Retrieved from Avocado (Persea americana Mill.) Canopies Along the Season Correlates with Sugar Levels in the Developing Fruit

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Remote Sensing
Solar Induced Fluorescence (SIF) emitted from the photosynthetic apparatus is related indirectly to biomass production. In this study, a non-imager point spectroradiometer was mounted on a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) system (SIF-UAV), and retrieved SIF

Effects of Add‐On Icosapent Ethyl With Standard Treatment on Functional Outcomes and Inflammatory Biomarkers in Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Blinded Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ischemic stroke, a major cause of mortality and long‐term disability, results from the abrupt cessation of cerebral blood flow due to vascular occlusion or rupture. Icosapent Ethyl (EPA‐EE), approved for hypertriglyceridemia, has anti‐inflammatory and antithrombotic properties that may lessen ischemic damage.
