Nerve regeneration following primary repair
Acta Neurochirurgica, 1976In nine selected cases a primary nerve repair was done. In all these patients a special suture was used. Applying clinical and neurophysiological tests, regeneration of the motor and sensory nerve fibres was followed for two years. A remarkable difference in growth rates of sensory and motor nerve fibres was observed.

Primary Repair and Autotransplantation of Cardiac Valves
Annual Review of Medicine, 1993The aortic valve is a beautifully designed and balanced structure with precise opening and closing mechanisms. Its design probably cannot be improved upon by man-made mechanical devices, no matter how ingenious. It is logical to use human valves as replacements because of their superior structural configuration.

An apology for primary repair of tetralogy of Fallot
Seminars in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery: Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Annual, 2005The first repair of tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) was 50 years ago, so it would seem that the details for optimal management strategies would be clear. Exteriorized primary repair of colon injuries
The American Journal of Surgery, 1972Abstract Two classic approaches have been applied to the surgical management of colon injuries. One has been exteriorization of the injured segment. The other has been primary repair of the injury in selected cases. A compromise approach can be utilized when the risk of leakage is high in a primarily repaired segment of colon: exteriorization of the ...
