Long-term outcome of primary non-surgical root canal treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Aim: The aim of this study is to examine the survival distributions of primary root canal treatment using interval-censored data and to assess the factors affecting the outcome of primary root canal treatment, in terms of periapical healing and tooth ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Outcome of primary root canal treatment: systematic review of the literature - Part 2. Influence of clinical factors

open access: yes, 2007
AIMS: (i) To carry out meta-analyses to quantify the influence of the clinical factors on the efficacy of primary root canal treatment and (ii) to identify the best treatment protocol based on the current evidence.

Root volatiles in plant-plant interactions II: Root volatiles alter root chemistry and plant-herbivore interactions of neighboring plants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted by plant roots can influence the germination and growth of neighboring plants. However, little is known about the effects of root VOCs on plant‐herbivore interactions of neighboring plants.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

The Role of Plant Primary and Secondary Metabolites in Root-Herbivore Behaviour, Nutrition and Physiology

open access: yes, 2013
Many insect herbivores feed on belowground plant tissues. In this chapter, we discuss how they have adapted to deal with root primary and secondary metabolites.

Allelopathic activity, seed germination, Artemisia aucheri, Festuca arundinaseae [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و فناوری بذر ایران, 2013
In order to study the effects of osmopriming on the germination of silage corn seeds (K.SC 704), a factorial experiment in a randomized completely block design with three replications was carried out in Qaemshahr faculty of agricultures lab in 2009 ...

Root Canal Morphology of Mandibular Primary Molars: A Micro-CT Study

open access: yesCumhuriyet Dental Journal, 2019
Objectives: Frequency of typical and non-typical root and canal morphology of primary teeth, which in clinical practice cannot be detected using 2D radiographic images, should be known by clinicians to decrease failures arising from complexity of root ...

The Diameter of Primary Roots and the Lateral Root Formation in Corn Plants

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Crop Science, 1983
The changes of the diameter of the primary roots along their axes were investigated in corn plants in relation to the diameter and the density of lateral roots. The primary roots of the basal "shoot units", are formed earlier and those of the upper "shoot units" are formed successively later in the growth of the plant.
