Priming and the reliability of subjective well-being measures [PDF]
Economists and behavioural scientists are beginning to make extensive use of measures of subjective well-being, and such data are potentially of value to policy-makers.

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

The author finds special primes for the two quartics arising from the cyclotomy of Kloosterman sums (for \(e=8)\) studied by \textit{D. H. Lehmer} and the author [Acta Arith. 12, 385-407 (1967; Zbl 0149.286); ibid. 14, 89-111 (1968; Zbl 0192.394)]; a special prime q being a prime which divides the discriminant of a general period polynomial of degree e

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Simple arithmetic processing: Surface form effects in a priming task
Models of numerical processing vary on whether they assume common or separate processing pathways for problems represented in different surface forms. The present study employed a priming procedure, with target naming task, in an investigation of surface

Almost Primes of Almost Prime Index
Summary: A positive integer is called a \(k\)-\textit{almost prime} if it is a product of \(k\) prime numbers, counted with repetition. In this paper we consider \(j\)-almost primes of \(k\)-almost prime index for given integers \(j, k \geq 0\). We establish asymptotic estimates for the counting functions, \(n\)th occurrences, and reciprocal sums of ...

Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.
