Cladistic analysis of the section Adonanthe under genus Adonis L. (Ranunculaceae) from East Asia
Cladistic analysis was conducted for 11 taxa belonging to sect. Adonanthe in the gen. Adonis in East Asia on the basis of morphological and cytological characters, and the evolutionary change of major diagnostic characters and the validity of the ...

The immature stages of primitive Lepidoptera can provide quite different but often useful morphological evidence and synapomorphies from those of adults. Incurvariidae is one of the most primitive lineages of extant Lepidoptera, which is species-poor but

On the primitive characters of the Poincaré group [PDF]
We calculate explicitely the traces of the different types of irreducible representations of the Poincare group. These have the form of generalized class functions and their mathematical structure follows from a generalization to non-compact groups of Frobenius' construction of induced characters.

Tra essere e agire. I mille volti della paura nella trilogia di Batman di Christopher Nolan [PDF]
The aim of this study is a semiotic analysis of the Nolan's Batman series (Batman Begins/2005, The Dark Knight/2008, The Dark Knight Rises/2012). It goes over dimension of figural, space and passion in order to highlight fear as a complex, primitive and ...

Prime characters and primitivity
A (complex) character of a finite group is called quasiprimitive if it is irreducible and if its restriction to every normal subgroup is a multiple of an irreducible character. It is known that every quasiprimitive character of a finite solvable group is primitive, i.e. not induced by a character of a proper subgroup.

On the Mean Values of Certain Character Sums
Let q≥5 be an odd number. In this paper, we study the fourth power mean of certain character sums ∑χmodq,χ-1=-1*∑1≤a≤q/4aχa4 and ∑χmodq,χ-1=1*∑1≤a≤q/4aχa4, where ∑* denotes the summation over primitive characters modulo q, and give some asymptotic ...

Astragalar Morphology of Selected Giraffidae. [PDF]
The artiodactyl astragalus has been modified to exhibit two trochleae, creating a double pullied structure allowing for significant dorso-plantar motion, and limited mediolateral motion.
