Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Principal Components and Principal Clusters
Journal of Information and Optimization Sciences, 1987Abstract The use of principal components to reduce the number of dimensions so that graphieal representation of the data is possible has been developed. One. of the most important applications is the connexion with cluster analysis. It has not been defined the criteria by which to decide whether there is any justification for dividing a set of ...

From Principal Curves to Granular Principal Curves
IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, 2014Principal curves arising as an essential construct in dimensionality reduction and data analysis have recently attracted much attention from theoretical as well as practical perspective. In many real-world situations, however, the efficiency of existing principal curves algorithms is often arguable, in particular when dealing with massive data owing to
