Downcurrent variation in submarine channel‐fill architecture from the shelf to upper slope

open access: yesSedimentology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The transition between the shelf and the upper slope is often considered an area of sediment bypass, where steeper gradients increase flow velocities and maintain particles in suspension. In addition to transferring sediments into deeper basins, upper‐slope areas can also host channelised submarine deposits.

Temporary caval occlusion technique during right divisional hepatectomy for massive hepatocellular carcinoma with caudal vena cava compression/involvement in dogs

open access: yesVeterinary Surgery, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To describe the perioperative and long‐term outcomes of dogs with massive hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in the right hepatic division causing compression or involvement of the caudal vena cava (CVC) treated with right divisional hepatectomy using temporary caval occlusion (TCO). Study design Retrospective case series.

Freshwater Biodiversity Research in Brazil: Trends from a Systematic Review and Topic Modeling

open access: yesInternational Review of Hydrobiology, Volume 111, Issue 2, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Brazil is a megadiverse country that hosts six major biomes and a vast freshwater network. Despite this richness, research on freshwater biodiversity has been heterogeneous across regions, communities, and time, leaving significant knowledge gaps.

Time course sensor‐based phenotyping can predict Ascochyta blight disease severity in Cicer species

open access: yesThe Plant Phenome Journal, Volume 9, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract Ascochyta blight is a widely occurring chickpea fungal disease that can cause severe yield loss. Breeding for crop resistance benefits from high‐throughput evaluation of plant–pathogen interactions in genotypes which can serve as sources of resistance.

Comparative Efficacy of Fermented and Unfermented Ethanolic Rooibos Extracts in Mitigating LPS‐Induced Intestinal Inflammation and Barrier Dysfunction

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2026.
Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis) is rich in bioactive polyphenols, but extraction and processing methods can substantially influence its composition and biological activity. This study investigated enriched ethanolic extracts from unfermented and fermented rooibos in an LPS‐stimulated IPEC‐J2 intestinal epithelial cell model. Despite marked differences in

Adult Embryonal Sarcoma of the Liver: Management of a Massive Liver Tumor

open access: yesCase Reports in Surgery, 2016
Undifferentiated embryonal sarcomas of the liver are extremely rare cases in adults. We report the case of a 30-year-old male who presented with early satiety and abdominal pain due to a massive tumor originating from the left liver and occupying the ...

The Influence of Sea‐Land Breeze on the Circulation and Air‐Sea Thermodynamics of the Mississippi Sound and Bight

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 19, 16 October 2026.
Abstract High spatial and temporal resolution wind forcing is essential to capture the highly variable atmospheric circulation driving ocean currents in shallow waters and across complex coastal features in the Mississippi Sound. In this study, we examine the sensitivity of modeled hydrodynamics to sea‐land breeze (SLB) circulation. Two versions of the

Cloud Microphysics and Drizzle Relationships With CCN Modality in Southern Ocean Stratocumuli

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 19, 16 October 2026.
Abstract Extended‐range high resolution cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) modality relationships to cloud microphysics and drizzle of the First Aerosol Characterization Experiment (ACE 1) were consistent with Physics of Stratocumulus Tops (POST) and Marine Stratus/Stratocumulus Experiment (MASE) observations.
