There is an increasing interest in thin and flexible energy storage devices to meet modern society needs in applications such as radio frequency sensing, interactive packaging and other consumer products. Printed batteries satisfy these requirements and can also be an excellent alternative to conventional batteries for many applications.

Improved Direct Ink Writing of Liquid Metal Foams via Liquid Additives
The ability to pattern liquid metal is useful for making soft electrical and thermal devices. Dispensing liquid metal from a nozzle naturally results in the formation of spheroidal droplets, making direct‐write printing challenging. Liquid metal foams containing pockets of air can extrude as filaments, albeit inconsistently.

A fully edible wheat bran–algae substrate is fabricated through scalable mould‐compression and spray‐coating, enabling robust, food‐grade platforms for sustainable electronics. A chitosan barrier improves water resistance and ink compatibility, while activated‐carbon conductive films form uniform electrodes with Ohmic behaviour.
