Increased Risk of Sarcomas in Children With Congenital Anomalies: Findings From the Genetic Overlap Between Anomalies and Cancer in Kids (GOBACK) Registry Linkage Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of tumors that contribute disproportionately to cancer mortality in children. Although congenital anomalies are among the strongest known risk factors for childhood cancer, the risk of specific sarcoma subtypes among affected individuals has not yet been thoroughly evaluated. Procedure We

Feedback scheduling of priority-driven control networks

open access: yes, 2009
With traditional open-loop scheduling of network resources, the quality-of-control (QoC) of networked control systems (NCSs) may degrade significantly in the presence of limited bandwidth and variable workload.

Supporting Survivor‐Centered Care Through Digital Health Integration

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Survivors of childhood cancer face barriers to receiving guideline‐based, long‐term follow‐up care. Two digital tools, Passport for Care (PFC) and Cancer SurvivorLink (SurvivorLink), address complementary gaps by enabling tailored survivorship care plan (SCP) generation, updating, storage, and sharing.

Therapeutic Apheresis for Intravenous Methylprednisolone‐Refractory Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder: Clinical and Radiological Outcomes in a Single‐Center Case Series

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

A hybrid chemical reaction optimization scheme for task scheduling on heterogeneous computing systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
An application consisting of a group of tasks can be represented by a node- and edge-weighted directed acyclic graph (DAG), in which the vertices represent the computations and the directed edges represent the data dependencies as well as the ...

Performance analysis of queueing system model under priority scheduling algorithms within 5G networks slicing framework

open access: yesDiscrete and Continuous Models and Applied Computational Science, 2022
A new era is opening for the world of information and communication technologies with the 5G networks release. Indeed 5G networks appear in modern wireless systems as solutions to traditional networks inflexibility and lack of radio resources problems ...

Schedulability Analysis and Priority Assignment for Global Job-Level Fixed-Priority Multiprocessor Scheduling [PDF]

open access: yes2012 IEEE 18th Real Time and Embedded Technology and Applications Symposium, 2012
Unlike uniprocessor scheduling, EDF (categorized into job-level fixed-priority (JFP) scheduling) shows relatively poor performance on global multiprocessor scheduling. As no other global JFP multiprocessor algorithms are illuminated beyond EDF, this work proposes one, called EQDF (earliest quasi-deadline first), as a generalization of EDF.

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.
