2009In a study, we carried out a validation of the Proactive Personality Scale (PPS; Seibert, Crant, & Kraimer, 1999), that measures the inclination to take action and change the environment to realize one’s goals. Participants were 139 employees, working in two companies. The majority of participants were blue-collar workers.

Design opportunities for personalized proactive notification management
2022Mobile devices deliver ‘notifications’ that interrupt the user for events like receiving text messages and emails. However, frequent interruptions reduce productivity and can increase stress. Notification management tools can reduce this distraction but substantial barriers, such as time and effort, prevent most users from managing their notifications.
