QUATERNARY STRUCTURE SYNTHESIS IN ALGEBRAIC BAYESIAN NETWORKS: INCREMENTAL AND DECREMENTAL ALGORITHMS [PDF]

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики, 2016
Subject of Research. Algebraic Bayesian networks are referred to a class of probabilistic graphical models that are a representation of knowledge bases with uncertainty. The distinguishing feature of ABN is the availability of global structures.

An Algorithm for Computing Probabilistic Propositions

open access: yesCoRR, 1988
A method for computing probabilistic propositions is presented. It assumes the availability of a single external routine for computing the probability of one instantiated variable, given a conjunction of other instantiated variables. In particular, the method allows belief network algorithms to calculate general probabilistic propositions over nodes in

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Structural studies and functional engineering of NanX: an anhydro‐sialic acid transporter from Escherichia coli

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.

Probabilistic algorithms for computing resultants [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2005 international symposium on Symbolic and algebraic computation, 2005
Let A and B be two polynomials in Z [x,y] and let R = resx(A,B) denote the resultant of A and B taken wrt x. In this paper we modify Collins' modular algorithm for computing R to make it output sensitive. The advantage of our algorithm is that it will be faster when the bounds needed by Collins' algorithm for the coefficients of R and for the degree of

High‐Resolution MRI Revealed Different Etiology‐Specific Associations With Cerebral Infarction in Adult Moyamoya Vasculopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective High‐resolution MRI enables detailed assessment of intracranial vessel wall pathology in moyamoya vasculopathy. We aimed to classify adult moyamoya vasculopathy etiologies using high‐resolution MRI and to examine subtype‐specific associations between high‐resolution MRI features and ischemic infarction.

A Nonlinear Analytical Algorithm for Predicting the Probabilistic Mass Flow of a Radial District Heating Network

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
This paper develops a nonlinear analytical algorithm for predicting the probabilistic mass flow of radial district heating networks based on the principle of heat transfer and basic pipe network theory.

Predictive Ability of Plasma p‐tau217 for β‐Amyloid Status: A Prospective Multicenter Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Plasma tau phosphorylated at threonine 217 (p‐tau217) measured with fully automated platforms has shown high accuracy for Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnosis, but real‐world multicenter data remain limited. We aimed to validate the diagnostic performance of p‐tau217 for identifying AD pathology in a real‐world multicenter cohort ...

On the accurate computation of expected modularity in probabilistic networks

open access: yesScientific Reports
Modularity is one of the most widely used measures for evaluating communities in networks. In probabilistic networks, where the existence of edges is uncertain and uncertainty is represented by probabilities, the expected value of modularity can be used ...
