Deterministic amplification of space-bounded probabilistic algorithms

open access: yesProceedings. Fourteenth Annual IEEE Conference on Computational Complexity (Formerly: Structure in Complexity Theory Conference) (Cat.No.99CB36317), 1999
This paper initiates the study of deterministic amplification of space-bounded probabilistic algorithms. The straightforward implementations of known amplification methods cannot be used for such algorithms, since they consume too much space.

Prevalence of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in Australia, 2010–2022: A Population‐Based Study Using Linked National Administrative Health Data

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a heterogenous inflammatory condition with widely varying global prevalence estimates. The frequency of SLE in the general population of Australia has been reported to be notably lower than contemporary estimates in countries such as the United States or United Kingdom, at 19 to 39 per 100,000 as opposed ...

Probabilistic Soft Set Theory for Decision-Making in Choosing Korean Dramas [PDF]

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences
Decision-making involves subjective elements influenced by individual preferences and uncertainties. A flexible framework to handle these complications is offered by probabilistic soft set theory. Probabilistic soft sets is an extension of soft set. This

Fast probabilistic snake algorithm

open access: yesProceedings 2003 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.03CH37429), 2004
Few people use the probability theory in order to achieve image segmentation with snake models. In this article, we are presenting an active contour algorithm based on a probability approach inspired by A. Blake work and P. R{é}fr{é}gier's team research in France.

Artificial Intelligence in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical Applications, Challenges, and Future Directions

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

Health Care Use Among Patients Presenting to Emergency Department for Gout Flares in Ontario, Canada: A Population‐Based Health Systems Analysis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We characterized emergency department (ED) gout visits and identified patient characteristics and health services patterns contributing to ED presentations. Methods We conducted a population‐based study of ED gout visits in Ontario, Canada, between 2014 and 2023.

The Probabilistic Instantaneous Matching Algorithm

open access: yes2006 IEEE International Conference on Multisensor Fusion and Integration for Intelligent Systems, 2006
A new Bayesian filtering technique for estimating signal parameters directly from discrete-time sequences is introduced. The so called probabilistic instantaneous matching algorithm recursively updates the probability density function of the parameters for every received sample and, thus, provides a high update rate up to the sampling rate with high ...

Real‐World Safety and Effectiveness of JAK Inhibitors in Systemic Sclerosis: A Propensity‐Matched Study From the EUSTAR Cohort

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective JAK inhibitors (JAKi) have shown promising effects in early‐phase studies of systemic sclerosis (SSc). We aimed to assess the safety and explore the effectiveness of JAKi compared to conventional immunosuppressants in SSc. Methods A longitudinal retrospective study of the European Scleroderma Trials and Research Group (EUSTAR) cohort was ...

Probabilistic gait modelling and recognition

open access: yesIET Computer Vision, 2013
Biometric researchers have recently found considerable applicability of gait recognition in visual surveillance systems. This study proposes a probabilistic framework for gait modelling that is applied to gait recognition.
