In a reliability-based design optimization (RBDO) problem, most of the computations are used for probabilistic constraints assessment, i.e., reliability analysis. Therefore, the effectiveness, especially the correctness of the reliability analysis is very important.

A new mathematical model for the Weber location problem with a probabilistic polyhedral barrier
International Journal of Production Research, 2013With the wide application of location theory in a variety of industries, the presence of barriers merits the attention of managers and engineers. In this paper, we assess the Weber location problem in the presence of a polyhedral barrier which probabilistically occurs on a given horizontal barrier route in the rectilinear space.

Robust structural analysis techniques are crucial for the recognition of handwritten mathematical formulas. Therefore we integrated a novel probabilistic structural classification module into a single-stage semantic decoder recursively taking relative symbol (or symbol group) positions and sizes into account.

A Probabilistic Framework Based on Mathematical Models with Application to Medical Data Streams
2012This thesis presents a new probability-based framework which exploits existing domain knowledge in the form of mathematical models and uses real-time data streams to individualise model parameters. We apply this new framework to personalising drug dosage regimes in critically ill patients, using routinely collected bedside and lab data. However, it can

Mathematical Critique of the AI-Infused Virtual Mind Palace: From Mnemonics to Probabilistic Models
Glyn Pickering's "AI-infused Virtual Mind Palace" represents a novel integration of the ancient Method of Loci (MoL) with contemporary Artificial Intelligence (AI) to combat exam anxiety and enhance memory retention in a virtual teaching environment.openaire +1 more source
