A new mathematical model for the Weber location problem with a probabilistic polyhedral barrier
International Journal of Production Research, 2013With the wide application of location theory in a variety of industries, the presence of barriers merits the attention of managers and engineers. In this paper, we assess the Weber location problem in the presence of a polyhedral barrier which probabilistically occurs on a given horizontal barrier route in the rectilinear space.

Online Social Networks system is based on the relationship among members of social networks. Communication among nodes influences their relationship. Relationship among nodes may be visible or invisible. The relationship among members of social networks passes through three stages of life cycles which are primary stage, secondary stage and termination ...

A Probabilistic Framework Based on Mathematical Models with Application to Medical Data Streams
2012This thesis presents a new probability-based framework which exploits existing domain knowledge in the form of mathematical models and uses real-time data streams to individualise model parameters. We apply this new framework to personalising drug dosage regimes in critically ill patients, using routinely collected bedside and lab data. However, it can

SOFT MEASUREMENTS AND COMPUTING
The economic security of a company is a key factor in its successful operation and adaptation to changing market conditions. In the context of increasing globalization and constant volatility on global markets, enterprises are exposed to various risks that can negatively affect their financial health and stability.

In a reliability-based design optimization (RBDO) problem, most of the computations are used for probabilistic constraints assessment, i.e., reliability analysis. Therefore, the effectiveness, especially the correctness of the reliability analysis is very important.
