A method to perform probabilistic production simulation involving combined heat and power units

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1996
The problem considered concerns expansion planning for combined heat and power (CHP) systems. The purpose is to develop a new method for pet-forming probabilistic production simulation. This is done by extending the probabilistic approach for power generation simulation to include heat generation as well.

Probabilistic simulation of spatial demand for intelligent product allocation

Proceedings of the 4th ACM SIGSPATIAL International Workshop on GeoSpatial Simulation, 2021
Connecting consumers with relevant products is a very important problem in both online and offline commerce. In many offline retail settings, product distributors extend bids to place and manage product displays within a retail outlet. The distributor aims to choose a spatial allocation strategy that maximizes revenue given a preset budget constraint ...

An Investigation of Two Methods for the Probabilistic Energy Production Simulation

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1983
Two methods for the calculation of expected energy generation have been proposed. These methods differ from the Baleariaux-Booth probabilistic simulation in that the concept of unserved demand is used. The PDF of hourly loads serves as the starting statistic. In one of the proposed methods, this has been approximated by multiple normal densities.

PROBABILISTIC PRODUCTION COSTING SIMULATION MODEL BASED ON THE REAL ECONOMIC DISPATCH

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1989
A new model for probabilistic production costing simulation has been developed based on the real economic dispatch. It is well known that the real economic dispatch is performed in accordance with the equal incremental fuel cost rule, when a power system is being operated with n units of generator.

Nodal Probabilistic Production Cost Simulation of Composite Power System

2006 IEEE PES Power Systems Conference and Exposition, 2006
This paper illustrates a nodal probabilistic production cost simulation at the load point of a composite power system for assessing operating cost in long term expansion planning of power system. This new nodal production cost simulation model includes capacities and uncertainties of generators as well as transmission lines. This simulation methodology

A simulation approach for adapting a production line balancing procedure to a probabilistic environment

International Journal of Production Research, 1982
Abstract Many of the line balancing procedures at present available have several limiting characteristics. First, they often tend to be based on approaches that encompass deterministic operating parameters when, in fact, realistic production systems have probabilistic operating parameters.
