On Focal Borel Probability Measures [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
The novel concept of focality is introduced for Borel probability measures on compact Hausdorff topological spaces. We characterize focal Borel probability measures as those Borel probability measures that are strictly positive on every nonempty open ...

Some results for probability measures on linear topological vector spaces with an application to Strassen's log log law [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 1973
AbstractWe prove some results regarding tight probability measures on real Frechet spaces and countable strict inductive limits of these spaces. These results are applied to Gaussian measures and to construct a Brownian motion on such spaces. We then prove the log log law of Strassen for this Brownian motion.

On Radon Barycenters of Measures on Spaces of Measures

open access: yesИзвестия Иркутского государственного университета: Серия "Математика", 2023
We study metrizability of compact sets in spaces of Radon measures with the weak topology. It is shown that if all compacta in a given completely regular topological space are metrizable, then every uniformly tight compact set in the space of Radon ...

Convergence of compound probability measures on topological spaces [PDF]

open access: yesColloquium Mathematicum, 1994
Let \(X\) and \(Y\) be topological spaces. We present a sufficient condition imposed on transition probabilities that assures the weak convergence or the relative compactness of compound probability measures \(\mu \circ \lambda\) defined by \(\mu \circ \lambda (D) = \int_X \lambda (x,D_x) \mu(dx)\) for a measure \(\mu\) on \(X\) and a transition ...

GAMES AND HEREDITARY BAIRENESS IN HYPERSPACES AND SPACES OF PROBABILITY MEASURES [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Institute of Mathematics of Jussieu, 2020
We establish that the existence of a winning strategy in certain topological games, closely related to a strong game of Choquet, played in a topological space $X$ and its hyperspace $K(X)$ of all nonempty compact subsets of $X$ equipped with the Vietoris

The Openness of Certain Subfunctors of the Probability Measure Functor and the Topological Properties of Spaces of the Form F(X)\?F(X)

open access: yesJournal of Physical Mathematics, 2018
It is known that the functor P probability measures is an open functor of compacts and continuous maps into itself acting in the category comp [1]. In this note we show some subfunctors of the functor P of probability measures also being open functors ...

Topological properties in tensor products of Banach spaces [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 2022
Given two Banach spaces $X$ and $Y$, we analyze when the projective tensor product $X\widehat{\otimes}_\pi Y$ has Corson's property (C) or is weakly Lindel\"of determined (WLD), subspace of a weakly compactly generated (WCG) space or subspace of a ...

Equivalence of weak and strong modes of measures on topological vector spaces [PDF]

open access: yesInverse Problems, 2017
A strong mode of a probability measure on a normed space X can be defined as a point u such that the mass of the ball centred at u uniformly dominates the mass of all other balls in the small-radius limit.

The Distribution Function of a Probability Measure on a Linearly Ordered Topological Space [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In this paper, we describe a theory of a cumulative distribution function on a space with an order from a probability measure defined in this space. This distribution function plays a similar role to that played in the classical case. Moreover, we define its pseudo-inverse and study its properties.
