Objective Race and household income impact outcomes in patients with rheumatic conditions; however, their role in pediatric antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)–associated vasculitis (AAV) remains poorly understood. We aimed to evaluate whether race and ethnicity and household income are associated with severe AAV disease and renal outcomes among

Prospect Theory or Skill Signaling? [PDF]
Failure is embarrassing. In gambles involving both skill and chance, we show that a strategic desire to avoid appearing unskilled generates behavioral anomalies that are typically explained by prospect theory’s concepts of loss aversion, probability ...

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

When does adjusting covariate under randomization help? A comparative study on current practices
Purpose We aim to thoroughly compare past and current methods that leverage baseline covariate information to estimate the average treatment effect (ATE) using data from of randomized clinical trials (RCTs).

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Household Portfolio Underdiversification and Probability Weighting: Evidence from the Field
We test whether probability weighting affects household portfolio choice in a representative survey. On average, people display inverse-S shaped probability weighting, overweighting low probability tail events.
