Combining Multiple Imputation and Inverse‐Probability Weighting [PDF]
Summary Two approaches commonly used to deal with missing data are multiple imputation (MI) and inverse‐probability weighting (IPW). IPW is also used to adjust for unequal sampling fractions. MI is generally more efficient than IPW but more complex. Whereas IPW requires only a model for the probability that an individual has complete data (a univariate

Class-Specific Deep Feature Weighting for Naïve Bayes Text Classifiers
Feature weighting is used to alleviate the conditional independence assumption of Naïive Bayes text classifiers and consequently improve their generalization performance. Most traditional feature weighting algorithms use general feature weighting,

Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of remdesivir in the early stage of nonsevere COVID-19. Although several randomized controlled trials have compared the effectiveness of remdesivir with that of a placebo, there is limited evidence regarding its ...

Music-evoked incidental happiness modulates probability weighting during risky lottery choices
We often make decisions with uncertain consequences. The outcomes of the choices we make are usually not perfectly predictable but probabilistic and the probabilities can be known or unknown.

Understanding Marginal Structural Models for Time-Varying Exposures: Pitfalls and Tips
Epidemiologists are increasingly encountering complex longitudinal data, in which exposures and their confounders vary during follow-up. When a prior exposure affects the confounders of the subsequent exposures, estimating the effects of the time-varying

Probability Weighting and Employee Stock Options [PDF]
AbstractThis paper documents that riskier firms with higher idiosyncratic volatility grant more stock options to nonexecutive employees. Standard models in the literature cannot easily explain this pattern; a model in which a risk-neutral firm and an employee with prospect theory preferences bargain over the employee's pay package can.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
