Multi-Variate Probit Analysis

Biometrics, 1970
SUMMARY This paper is concerned with the situation in which samples from a population of biological organisms are exposed to a stimulus at various levels, the effect on the organisms being manifested in terms of the observable quantal responses of two or more separate physiological systems.

High-Dimensional Multivariate Probit Analysis

Biometrics, 1996
A computationally practical form of probit analysis for multiple response variables based on an assumed common factor model for the latent tolerances is proposed. Numerical integration over the factor space provides maximum likelihood estimation of the probit regression parameters and of the probabilities of response combinations under the model.

Programming Probit Analysis

Bulletin of the Entomological Society of America, 1979
Probit analysis is a conventional technique for evaluating a quantal response to a stimulus (Finney 1971). Data amenable to this analytical method include the results of bioassays of drugs, insecticides, and fungicides. With suitable generalization, probit analysis has been applied to other kinds of investigations (Press 1972).

PROBIT: weighted probit regression analysis for estimation of biological activity

Journal of Immunological Methods, 1992
PROBIT estimates biologic activity by weighted probit regression analysis and comparison with a known standard. The program is intended to speed up calculation of the concentration of cytokines in large numbers of cell supernatants. Data are input from either sequential or free-form text files created with a spreadsheet or text editor.

A Multivariate Generalization of Probit Analysis

Biometrics, 1981
A generalized form of probit analysis is applied to the problem of the inference of the value of all unobservable continuous variable from quantal variables. The observational units are assumed to belong to known groups that are homogeneous with respect to the value of the continuous variable, and responses within and between units in the same group ...

Probit analysis of thermal sensation assessments

International Journal of Biometeorology, 1977
The probit technique for analysis of subjective assessments of thermal sensation is described. It enables transition temperatures from any selected thermal sensation to the adjacent thermal sensation (e.g. from “neutral” to “warm”) to be identified.

SAS probit analysis for cadmium mortality

Environmental Research, 1982
Abstract In the quantitation of heavy metal effectiveness it is useful to compute the median lethal dose (LD50) to the exposed population. The computerized Statistical Analysis System (SAS) of probit analysis is particularly useful in analyzing dose-response data because it is more accurate than the graphical methods currently in use and, in addition,
