The aim of this paper is to give a brief overview of the gradually evolving body of literature on PIU.

Abstract As a result of new technology, problematic internet use (PIU) is a problem for a significant number of adolescents. Most adolescents spend more than 7 hours a day using media, but a subset of adolescents who suffer from PIU spent more than that online.
