Effect of particle size distribution on spatially and angularly resolved diffuse reflectance measurement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Particle size distribution is vitally important in pharmaceutical formulation. Spectroscopy is the most prominent method for in-line particle measurements and process analytics, and near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy can be seen as the workhorse in the ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Uncertain R&D, Backstop Technology and GHGs Stabilization [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper analyses optimal investments in innovation when dealing with a stringent climate target and with the uncertain effectiveness of R&D. The innovation needed to achieve the deep cut in emissions is modelled by a backstop carbon-free technology ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Integrated molecular riser-regenerator modeling via Radau collocation for FCC operational optimization

open access: yesChemical Engineering Journal Advances
Fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) operation depends on tight heat coupling between an endothermic riser and an exothermic regenerator. Decoupled models often mispredict feasible temperatures and product trade-offs.

Transformation of the Family under Rising Land Pressure: A Theoretical Essay [PDF]

open access: yes
If we understand well the individualization of land tenure rules under conditions of growing land scarcity and increased market integration, much less is known about the mode of evolution of the farm-cum-family units possessing the land.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.
