A new multivariate process capability index

Total Quality Management & Business Excellence, 2017
Multivariate process capability indices are applied to account the capability of the processes which the quality of the products depends on two or more related characteristics. We call a tolerance region asymmetric, when the target value of at least one characteristic is not the mid-point of the tolerance interval.

A spatial multivariate process capability index

2010 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, 2010
Process capability ultimately decides process quality level. Based on analyzing process capability index (PCI), Process capability may be effectively assured. For the multivariate manufacturing processes, tremendous difficulties are often encountered when one attempts to measure the process capability by directly extending the univariate approach ...

On a Process Capability Index for Asymmetric Specifications

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2003
Abstract Among the process capability indices considered in the literature C pm is one of the most widely used, despite the fact that its performance often becomes unsatisfactory in the case of processes with asymmetric specifications, i.e., processes whose target value is not located at the midpoint of the specification area.

Robust process capability index tracking for process qualification

Proceedings of the 2015 International Conference on Microelectronic Test Structures, 2015
This paper presents a robust process qualification and monitoring procedure based on the recently developed YAT and YWL process capability indices. Combined with appropriate test structures and measurements the procedure enables rapid process maturity evaluation and on-going loop closure of manufacturing to process specifications.

A process capability index sensitive to skewness

Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation, 1995
A new process capability indexCs , is proposed which extends the most useful index to date, the Pearn-Kotz-Johnson Cpmk , by not only taking into account that the process mean may not lie midway between the specification limits and incorporating a penalty when the mean deviates from its target, but also incorporating a penalty for skewness.

Multivariate Process Capability Index with Spatial Coefficient Modification

2012 Third International Conference on Digital Manufacturing & Automation, 2012
Process capability ultimately decides process quality level. Based on analyzing process capability index (PCI), process capability may be effectively assured. For the multivariate manufacturing processes, tremendous difficulties are often encountered when one attempts to measure the process capability by directly extending the univariate approach.

Process Capability Index Under Simultaneous Effects of Process Deterioration and Learning Process

2020 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (IEEM), 2020
Process Capability Index (PCI) is often applied to measure the process’s ability of performance within functional specifications under controlled conditions. Thus, PCI can be used to evaluate the manufacturability of the product with given processes; namely, given its process setting and natural variation.

Process Capability Index: A Better Way to Assess Equipment Capability

SMTA International, 2008
ABSTRACT In the world of electronic assembly equipment, determining the true capability of the process equipment can be a daunting task to an average process engineer. While various customers have certain expectations regarding the capability of supplied equipment, there is no specific existing industry standard ...

A new t-chart using process capability index

Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2017
Control charts play a vital role to enhance the efficiency of the manufacturing process. In many situations, the quality characteristic of interest to be monitored follows a non-normal distribution...

A multivariate process capability index that complies with industry requirements

IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2016
Process capability indices (PCIs) are widely used in production processes in order to evaluate the product quality. Taking into account the benefits of these quality indices, six requirements that a PCI must achieve within production processes are proposed by the authors.
