Descriptive modeling of software process

open access: yes, 2022
Ill., Lit.An approach to descriptive process modeling is described. A description of the process a process model is essential for successful process improvement. First, a process model serves as a baseline for process change.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Integrating environmental assessment in the assembly line design process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This study focuses on including the environmental assessment of a process in its design. Two improvement targets can be considered to optimize the environmental efficiency of a production phase: a cleaner process, and the optimization of the assembly of ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Customer complaints as a source of customer-focused process improvement: A constructive case study [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Business Science and Applied Management, 2008
Process-based thinking commonly focuses on enhancing the efficiency of processes, while it is often criticized for not paying enough attention to the customer.

Process description elements required for process improvement

open access: yes, 2010
Process descriptions have developed in different fields resulting in emphasis on different process elements. To date process improvement has relied on a wider understanding of process than is contained in the description.

Current Challenges and Proposed Software Improvement Process for VSEs in Developing Countries

open access: yes, 2016
Many software development organizations are classified as Very Small Entities (VSEs) with limited number of staff to implement full size of software development lifecycles standards (SDLC) such as ISO/IEC 12207 in their software projects.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Establishing Process Improvement Capability in an HE environment

open access: yes, 2016
Process improvement activity is increasing in UK universities, partly in response to calls for increased effectiveness and efficiency but also as a response to today’s rapidly changing political and economic environment. This guide seeks to evidence what

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
