Abstract In the practical world of policymaking and implementation, knowledge about a treaty partner's compliance with the terms of an agreement is essential. Without information about the behaviour of the other party, each side has good reasons to defect from the agreement; anticipating this dynamic, both parties may fail to reach an ...

Monitoring and Diagnosis of a Grinding Process
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1991Abstract A rational and reliable (i.e. experimentally grounded) approach to the advanced monitoring and diagnostics of coal pulverizers is presented in this paper. Two different forms of the dynamic model of the grinding process are proposed: a simulation model, exactly accounting for the distributed nature of the grinding process and for the various

Semantics and verification of monitors and systems of monitors and processes
Distributed Computing, 1988We present a sound and complete semantics for the monitor concepts of C. A. R. Hoare. First a method for specification of monitors, introduced by O.-J. Dahl, is reviewed. This method is based on the relation between the historic sequence of monitor procedure calls and the historic sequence of monitor procedure exits.

Comprehensive Monitoring of BPEL Processes
IEEE Internet Computing, 2010Service-oriented systems' distributed ownership has led to an increasing focus on runtime management solutions. Service-oriented systems can change greatly after deployment, hampering their quality and reliability. Their service bindings can change, and providers can modify the internals of their services.

Process Mining for Trust Monitoring
2015 IEEE 29th International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications Workshops, 2015Communicating systems are today composed of a huge number of distributed processes interoperate with diverse kinds of applications, services and actors. It therefore becomes crucial to monitor and manage these trustworthy interactions. For that purpose, passive testing techniques have been used particularly for checking the system conformance w.r.t ...

Monitoring Business Process Interaction
2013Business process monitoring provides well established means to track the history and state of business processes and to evaluate their performance. However, common techniques and systems lack support of monitoring processes and their interactions with partners, particularly if such processes are not automated or only few events can be detected, rather ...

Business Process Monitoring for Dependability
2007This is the fourth book in a series on Architecting Dependable Systems we started five years ago that brings together issues related to software architectures and the dependability of systems. This book includes expanded and peer-reviewed papers based on the selected contributions to the Workshop on Architecting Dependable Systems (WADS), organized at ...

Visual Interactive Process Monitoring
2015Sensor data has been coined the oil of the 21st century. We present a technique for the visual analysis of multivariate sensor event log data. This technique tackles two challenges: Firstly, in a complex process the relation of causes and effects is often masked by indirections.
