Monitoring of Microalgal Processes
2015Process monitoring, which can be defined as the measurement of process variables with the smallest possible delay, is combined with process models to form the basis for successful process control. Minimizing the measurement delay leads inevitably to employing online, in situ sensors where possible, preferably using noninvasive measurement methods with ...

Transaction processing monitors
Communications of the ACM, 1990A transaction processing (TP) application is a program that performs an administrative function by accessing a shared database on behalf of an on-line user. A TP system is an integrated set of products that supports TP applications. These products include both hardware, such as processors, memories, disks and communications controllers, and software ...

Monitoring for Digital Preservation of Processes
2011Digital Preservation is an important challenge for the information society. Reliable information and communication technology is crucial for most companies and software failure, is a considerable risk. Use of technologies such as Software as a Service (SaaS) and Internet of Services (IoS) means that business processes are increasingly supported by ...

Smart Process Analytics for Process Monitoring
Computers & Chemical EngineeringProcess monitoring is critical to ensuring product quality and efficient, safe process operation. Data-driven modeling is used in the process industries to build fault detection systems. No single data-driven modeling method provides the best fault detection performance for all process systems, and the selection of the best data-driven modeling method ...

Event-based process monitoring
Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, 2007This article presents an efficient Intelligent Supervision System (ISS) architecture for the monitoring of a plant. The ISS detects relevant events which are later used to identify the state of the plant. The ISS layered structure implements the sliding window paradigm to detect significative events from measured signals.

Ellipsometric monitor for process control
Applied Optics, 1989A process monitor that uses ellipsometry is described. It is provided with simple automatic azimuth calibration and optical alignment mechanisms. Calibration way determines azimuth angle errors and corrects errors of psi and Delta derived from those errors after crude manual adjustment or a change in plane of incidence.

A Process Oriented Monitoring Framework
Journal of Systems Integration, 1998Quality of product is an important consideration in engineering design activity, certain levels of which can be obtained by utilizing the available resources. Traditionally, a demand for increased levels of quality in the product required the deployment of additional resources.

Monitoring of an antigen manufacturing process
Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering, 2016Fluorescence spectroscopy in combination with multivariate statistical methods was employed as a tool for monitoring the manufacturing process of pertactin (PRN), one of the virulence factors of Bordetella pertussis utilized in whopping cough vaccines. Fluorophores such as amino acids and co-enzymes were detected throughout the process.
