Subcritical Branching Processes in Random Environment

2016
This paper is a survey of some recent results on the asymptotics of the survival probability, limit theorems conditioned on survival or attaining a high level of single-type subcritical branching processes in independent and identically distributed random environments.

On Multitype Branching Processes in a Random Environment

Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2002
For a critical multitype Galton-Watson process in an i.i.d. random environment the probability of extinction at time \(T\) is shown to be of order \(T^{-3/2}\) as \(T\to\infty\). This generalizes a result of \textit{V. A. Vatutin} and the author [Discrete Math. Appl. 7, No. 5, 469-496 (1997); translation from Diskretn. Mat. 9, No. 4, 100-126 (1997; Zbl

Supercritical branching processes in random environments

2014
We consider a supercritical branching process $(Z_n)$ in an independent and identically distributed random environment $\xi$, and present some recent results on the asymptotic properties of the limit variable $W$ of the natural martingale $W_n= Z_n/\mathbb{E}[Z_n|\xi]$, the convergence rates of $W - W_n $ (by considering the convergence in law with a ...

Stochastic processes with stable distributions in random environments

Physical Review E, 1996
The asymptotic behavior in random environments of random flights with stable distribution laws is analyzed by the field-theoretic renormalization group. Random force fields with isotropic, divergenceless, curl-free, and unconstrained pair correlation functions with both finite and infinite correlation length are considered.

Branching processes in a Markov random environment

Discrete Mathematics and Applications, 2014
Abstract The paper is concerned with critical branching processes in a Markov random environment. A conditional functional limit theorem for the number of particles in a process and a conditional invariance principle are proved. The asymptotic tail behaviour for the distributions of the maximum and the total number of particles in a ...
