Phonological working memory and linguistic processing speed in inferential reading comprehension
Background Phonological working memory has been known as an essential predictor of reading comprehension in children. However, less attention has been paid to processing speed and its interaction with working memory. Main body Research has indicated that

White Matter Microstructural Abnormalities in Neonatal Onset Genetic Epilepsy
ABSTRACT Objective Recent evidence indicates that epilepsy is associated with abnormal white matter. If seizures alter white matter, then the impact upon network function, epileptogenesis, and cognition could be pronounced in neonates undergoing rapid developmental myelination. Neonates with epilepsy due to nonstructural genetic causes provide a unique

Temporal memory in human amnesic subjects and rats with specific brain lesions [PDF]
Temporal processing was assessed in a group of alcoholic Korsakoff subjects, post viral encephalitic subjects, alcoholic control and normal control subjects. Subjects were tested on their ability to reproduce and estimate intervals of time ranging from 3

Objective Although the definition of a gout flare is well established, the state of gout flare resolution has not yet been defined. This study aimed to explore patients’ experiences and perceptions of gout flare resolution. Methods Semistructured interviews were conducted with 24 people with gout, guided by open‐ended questions exploring their ...

This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.

EMERGING ARCHITECTURES FOR PROCESSOR-IN-MEMORY CHIPS: TAXONOMY AND IMPLEMENTATION
The emergence of PIM (processing-in-memory) die and Date-Centric systems (DCS) and near- data processing approach (NDP) has given rise to the need of developing architectural taxonomy for multi-core PNM (processing near memory) hardware with multi-level ...
