Sono‐Mechanogenetics: Linking Ultrasound Physics With Cellular Mechanobiology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sono‐mechanogenetics links ultrasound physics with cellular mechanotransduction to enable noninvasive control of engineered biological systems. Acoustic forces generate distinct deformation modes that activate intracellular signaling pathways, which can be coupled to synthetic gene circuits to regulate diverse cellular functions, including gene ...

Faster and Durable: A Cell‐to‐System Validation of a Low‐Degradation Fast‐Charge Protocol for Li‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A physics‐based framework resolving graphite phase‐separation dynamics establishes a predictive, degradation‐aware fast‐charging methodology for commercial Li‐ion batteries. The resulting model‐informed protocol achieves 20%–80% state‐of‐charge in 14 min while matching the long‐term degradation of a commercial 25‐minute EV strategy.

Revisiting Target‐Aware de novo Molecular Generation with TarPass: Between Rational Design and Texas Sharpshooter

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TarPass provides a rigorous benchmark for target‐aware de novo molecular generation by jointly evaluating protein‐ligand interactions, molecular plausibility, and drug‐likeness on 18 well‐studied targets. Results show that current models often fail to consistently surpass random baseline in target‐specific enrichment, while post hoc multi‐tier virtual ...

PROCURING KNOWLEDGE [PDF]

open access: possible, 2004
There is growing public interest in alternatives to intellectual property including, but not limited to, prizes and government grants. We argue that there is no single best mechanism for supporting research. Rather, mechanisms can only be compared within specific creative environments.

Organ procurement: Spanish transplant procurement management

Asian Cardiovascular and Thoracic Annals, 2011
Transplantation is an accepted therapeutic option to save or improve the quality of life when organ failure occurs or tissue replacements are needed. However, the lack of organs is the major limitation. The deceased organ procurement organization and professionals provide the solution to this international problem.
