Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.

Time‐Dependent Oxidation and Scale Evolution of a Wrought Co/Ni‐Based Superalloy
This study shows how a new wrought Co/Ni‐based superalloy resists oxidation at 800 ∘$^\circ$C. The oxide scale changes from rough, fast‐growing spinel to a dense, protective chromia–alumina layer. Atom probe analysis reveals tiny refractory‐rich bubbles at the interface that mark the transition to long‐term, diffusion‐controlled protection ...

PERFORMANCE AND EMISSIONS OF A MICRO-GAS TURBINE FUELED WITH PRODUCER GAS IN A DUAL FUEL MODE [PDF]
Biomass has a potential to be one of the energy alternative solutions for the future. Substituting traditional fuels with the biomass has been considered as a promising way to meet the urgent environmental targets. In Malaysia.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

Effect Of Water Injection Inside A Double Walled Throatless Downdraft Gasifier For Improving Producer Gas Quality [PDF]
Biomass had been proven of its potential as an alternative energy since non-renewable energy such as fossil fuels are undergoing depletion and price increase. The quality of the producer gas using air as gasifying agent has a relatively low heating value

Identified through the use of statistical design of experiments and metallographic investigation, this study exposes the stochastic origins of intergranular cracks in blown powder laser beam directed energy deposition additive manufacturing of pure molybdenum. It further demonstrates a successful crack mitigation approach with direct correlation to the

Performance Of An Alumina Ball Packed Bed Porous Media Burner Fueled By Producer Gas [PDF]
Producer gas from biomass gasification is unable to burn efficiently in conventional burner due to low burning velocity of CO which comprises of about 20% of the producer gas.

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Does OPEC act as a Residual Producer? [PDF]
In the conventional energy modeling systems, such as the one followed by the National Energy Modeling System (NEMS), USA or the International Energy Agency (IEA), Paris, the OPEC has been assumed to act like a residual producer.

A two‐dimensional multiscale finite element analysis framework was established for the first‐generation MoSiBTiC alloy, and the mechanical and fracture‐related parameters of the constituent phases were calibrated through experiments and simulations. The framework provides a basis for analyzing crack propagation behavior in its complex microstructure ...
