A detailed experimental analysis of air–steam gasification in a dual fired downdraft biomass gasifier enabling hydrogen enrichment in the producer gas

open access: yesEnergy, 2019
The use of ambient air as an oxidizing agent in the biomass gasification process is well understood. Ambient air contains 79% nitrogen (N2) and 21% Oxygen (O2) by volume.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

The effect of Jatropha seed cake producer gas flow rates on a diesel engine operated on dual fuel mode at high engine speed

open access: yesEngineering and Applied Science Research, 2019
Jatropha seed cake is a byproduct of biodiesel production. The seed cake can be used to make a producer gas that can be fumigated into a diesel engine operated on dual fuel mode without major modification.

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

The combustion and emission characteristics of the diesel engine operated on a dual producer gas-diesel fuel mode

open access: yesEngineering and Applied Science Research, 2019
Producer gas is a low energy density gaseous fuel converted from carbonaceous materials through a thermochemical process. The gas can be exploited to operate a diesel engine on a dual-fuel mode to partially reduce diesel fuel use.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Effects of Oxygen Enrichment in Air Oxidants on Biomass Gasification Efficiency and the Reduction of Tar Emissions

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
This study applied oxygen-enrichment conditions to remove tar (the main problem in biomass gasification) and increase gasification efficiency. Experiments on oxygen-enrichment conditions were conducted at oxygen concentrations of 21%, 25%, 30%, and 35 ...

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...
