The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

Asymmetric Quantum Codes from τ-Paired Matrix-Product Codes
Asymmetric quantum codes are useful for quantum channels in which phase and bit errors occur with different probabilities, since the two distances, dz and dx, can be controlled separately.

The weight hierarchy of product codes
Summary: The weight of a code is the number of coordinate positions where no codeword is zero. The \(r\)th minimum weight \(d_r\) is the least weight of an \(r\)-dimensional subcode. \textit{V. K. Wei} and \textit{K. Yang} [ibid. 39, 1709-1713 (1993; Zbl 0801.94016)] gave a conjecture about the minimum weights for some product codes.

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

Qudit low-density parity-check codes [PDF]
Qudits offer significant advantages over qubit-based architectures, including more efficient gate compilation, reduced resource requirements, improved error-correction primitives, and enhanced capabilities for quantum communication and cryptography. Yet,

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Decoding the Tensor Product of MLD Codes and Applications for Code Cryptosystems
For the practical application of code cryptosystems such as McEliece, it is necessary that the code used in the cryptosystem should have a fast decoding algorithm.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an
