This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Numerical study of hypergraph product codes
10 pages, 2 figuresHypergraph product codes introduced by Tillich and Z\'emor are a class of quantum LDPC codes with constant rate and distance scaling with the square-root of the block size.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Differentially Encoded LDPC Codes—Part I: Special Case of Product Accumulate Codes
Part I of a two-part series investigates product accumulate codes, a special class of differentially-encoded low density parity check (DE-LDPC) codes with high performance and low complexity, on flat Rayleigh fading channels.

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Iterative decoding of product codes
Iterative decoding of block codes is a rather old subjectthat regained much interest recently. The main idea behinditerative decoding is to break up the decoding problem into asequence of stages, iterations, such that each stage utilizesthe output from ...

Iterative decoding of product codes over binary erasure channel
International audienceIterative decoding of product codes over the binary erasure channel is investigated. It is shown that belief propagation decoding combined with cyclic permutations yields near-capacity performance with low complexity for high-code ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Nonlocal resources for error correction in quantum low-density parity-check codes
Quantum low-density parity-check (qLDPC) codes with high-performance and nonlocal stabilizers are an attractive alternative to the surface code because of their relatively high code rate and distance.
