Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The Correspondence Between n-dimensional Euclidean Space and the Product of n Real Lines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In the article we prove that a family of open n-hypercubes is a basis of n-dimensional Euclidean space. The equality of the space and the product of n real lines has been proven.Institute of Informatics, University of Białystok, Sosnowa 64, 15-887 ...

Black soldier fly larvae as a model to investigate ‘hot’ vs. ‘cold’ food properties in traditional Chinese medicine with applications for pest management

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
Black soldier fly (BSF, Hermetia illucens) larvae are detritivores used in waste management; however, the influence of food chemical cues or traditional Chinese medicine’s “hot” and “cold” classifications on their feeding behaviour remains poorly ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...
