Abstract Two classes of probabilistic models are compared: the true and error (TE) type models and models in the family of the basic local independence model (BLIM). The former finds applications in the study of human preference, whereas the latter has been developed within the theory of knowledge structures with the aim of producing knowledge ...

Register‐Efficient Linear‐Time Evaluation in the Bernstein Basis
Abstract We investigate the evaluation of points and derivatives of Bézier curves and surfaces on modern architectures, focusing on performance and guided by numerical error bounds. While the de Casteljau algorithm remains the reference for numerical robustness, its linear working‐set size imposes substantial register pressure on GPUs.

Two Remarks to Bifullness of Centers of Archimedean Atomic Lattice Effect Algebras
Lattice effect algebras generalize orthomodular lattices as well as MV-algebras. This means that within lattice effect algebras it is possible to model such effects as unsharpness (fuzziness) and/or non-compatibility. The main problem is the existence of

Class Angular Distortion Index for Dimensionality Reduction
Abstract Dimensionality reduction (DR) techniques are often characterized by whether they preserve global, high‐level structures in the data or local, neighborhood structures. This distinction matters in visualization: global methods can obscure clusters while local methods can over‐emphasize them.

Kleene-isomorphic σ-complete MV-algebras with product are isomorphic [PDF]
We prove that the Kleene structure in a sigma-complete MV-algebra with product is sufficient to recover the MV-structure.Fil: Cignoli, Roberto Leonardo Oscar. Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas.

FaceMamba: Geometry‐Aware Mamba for Efficient Speech‐Driven 3D Facial Animation
Abstract Speech‐driven 3D facial animation plays a pivotal role in immersive digital human applications. Recent works have explored Mamba‐based sequence modeling as an efficient alternative to Transformer, but they often suffer from limited cross‐modal alignment and insufficient control over fine‐grained facial deformations.

The role of structural transformation in regional convergence in Japan: 1874–2008
Abstract Japan's regional convergence of productivity levels throughout the twentieth century can be best described as a cumulative process of ‘catching up, forging ahead, and falling behind’. Using a novel dataset spanning 135 years (1874–2008), this study finds support for a crucial role played by structural transformation in convergence. The pace of

Tensor Products and the Loomis–Sikorski Theorem for MV-Algebras
The author defines the MV-tensor product of MV-algebras. However, since it is possible for a semisimple MV-algebra to have a tensor product with itself which is non-semisimple, he restricts himself to semisimple algebras and defines their semisimple tensor product, and gives a way to visualize it in terms of separating subalgebras of the algebra of ...

Follow Me Into Math: Near‐Peer Influencers Take the Stage
ABSTRACT Young people like to be entertained, and to entertain others. What if students were to invest enough of their time and effort into learning topics from our mathematics courses to become experts in the eyes of their peers? In this study we positioned college students and high school students as mathematical performers on the stage in front of ...
