Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Differential forms of infinite variables [PDF]

open access: yes, 1952
In this paper, the theory of differential forms of infinite variables is constructed by analogy with the one of finite variables. Of course many difficulties appear because of the infiniteness, but analogous results to the finite case are obtained.

X-ray Diffraction Analysis of Linezolid Crystalline Forms as Part of Quality Control

open access: yesРегуляторные исследования и экспертиза лекарственных средств, 2019
This work is a continuation of research on the use of X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) for identification of medicines that exhibit polymorphism. The aim of the paper was to perform comparative XRD analysis of linezolid samples produced by different ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

The Bruinier--Funke pairing and the orthogonal complement of unary theta functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We describe an algorithm for computing the inner product between a holomorphic modular form and a unary theta function, in order to determine whether the form is orthogonal to unary theta functions without needing a basis of the entire space of modular ...

A hybrid optimization approach to forecast automobile sales of China

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
In this article, a novel Hybrid method based on particle swarm optimization and ant colony optimization (HPA) is proposed to forecast automobile sales of China. Proposed hybrid model integrating particle swarm optimization and ant colony optimization for

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.
