Cyclic Productions planning

The Proceedings of the Multiconference on "Computational Engineering in Systems Applications", 2006
We study in this paper the Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS) short-term planning problem. It consists of decomposing the initial demand in different cyclic steady states to reduce the complexity of the general planning and scheduling problem. The main criterion to optimize is the makespan.

Optimum Planning of Electricity Production

Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power, 2008
The problem of planning the production of a pool of power plants has been deeply investigated. Maintenance management and load allocation problems have been assumed as crucial aspects for achieving maximum plant profitability. A production-planning approach has been developed, and genetic algorithm techniques have been adopted to implement the ...

Planning for productivity

Long Range Planning, 1980
Abstract In the 1980s the subject of productivity will receive increasing attention as the old macro economic policies are replaced by micro economic policies. Everyone in various ways will discover the changes which will be involved in learning the real economic facts of life.

Production Planning and Scheduling

2000
Assuming that the master plan has been generated, we can now derive detailed plans for the different plants and production units. In the following we will describe the underlying decision situation (Sect. 10.1) and outline how to proceed from a model to a solution (Sect. 10.2).

Production planning for remanufactured products

Production Planning & Control, 2007
This paper presents a methodology for production planning within facilities involved in the remanufacture of products. Remanufacturing refers to the process of accepting inoperable units, salvaging good and repairable components from those units, and then re-assembling good units to be re-issued into service.

Stochastic Production Planning with Production Constraints

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1984
The authors consider an infinite horizon stochastic production planning problem with the constraint that the production rate must be non- negative. They first establish the existence of an optimal feed-back solution for the problem. Subsequently they characterize the solution and compare it with the solution of the unconstrained problem.

Planning Tire Production

Management Science, 1970
An outline of the tire production process is given. A planning model is discussed and an application is made to the planning of tire production (both long and short term). Planning for finished tires, green tires and for components is included as the model is developed.
