ADAPTIVE CONTROL IN PRODUCTION SCHEDULING

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1980
Abstract The paper reports on a new method for solving perturbation problems in the course of production scheduling of cutting operations in the field of machine tool manufacture. It can perform this task by supplementing a previously prepared heuristic scheduling method with an algorithm which optimizes cutting parameters.

Production Scheduling Using AI Techniques

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1990
Abstract Within the CIM environment, one of the main areas of investigation at now is the scheduling system. Usually, the scheduling problem was solved in an inneficient way due to the complexity of the problem. Recently, Artificial Intelligence is begining to be apllied to this kind of problems and seems to be a good solution. This paper describes a

Production Control: Scheduling

Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1945
IN our series of papers on Production Control in Aircraft Engineering, we have so far covered the following subjects: (1) Preproduction Planning (Dec. 1942), (2) The Production Plan (July 1944), (3) Shop‐loading (Aug. 1943), (4) Manufacturing Order Control (Jan. 1944), (5) A System of Works Control (September 1943). Production scheduling of perishable products

International Journal of Production Research, 1976
This paper extends the classical m product, single machine economic lot size problem to include the cost of returns due to spoilage. A revised cycle time is determined for the case where spoiled items are always returned and for the case where there is a chance the spoiled item will not be returned.

PRODUCTION SCHEDULING USING GENETIC ALGORITHMS

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1992
Abstract Genetic algorithms (GAs) have proved to be robust and reasonably fast in finding good solutions, but are still regarded as an academic toy. The work presented here prepares for a broad application of GAs in industrial settings by providing a user-oriented modelling environment.

Master Production Scheduling

2000
The master schedule is a time-phased planning chart that presents planned demand of designated master planning items. These designated, or assigned items, can be finished goods, such as a television set, a planned module, such as a transmission, or an option, such as a sun roof.

Dynamic production scheduling

1990
Production scheduling is today most often done by traditional MRP II systems (Manufacturing Resource Planning). These systems have several severe problems: They are planning for unlimited resources. They only compute the resources needed and do not schedule jobs that need the same resource at different times.
