Redrawing the Mannich‐Type Reaction through Carbonyl Umpolung Reactivity

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
GA: Herein, a conceptually novel one‐pot multicomponent strategy is reported for the streamlined construction of five‐membered imidazolidines from 1,2‐diaza‐1,3‐dienes (onefold), amines (twofold), and formaldehyde (twofold). This redesigned Mannich‐type reaction that exploits a carbene‐like activity of 1,2‐diaza‐1,3‐dienes (realized by “umpolung ...

Cu(I)‐Catalyzed Interrupted Cycloaddition Between Azides, Ag(I)‐Acetylides, and Diorganoyl Dichalcogenides

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
Unleashing the power of Ag(I)‐acetylides with LiCl/dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). The LiCl/DMSO mixture have an unexplored ability to dramatically increase the solubility of Ag(I)‐acetylides regardless of their molecular structure, which is explored to achieve high chemoselectivity in the Cu(I)‐catalyzed interrupted cycloaddition between organic azides, Ag(

Life Cycle Assessment of Magnesium‐Impregnated Biochar Production and its Application for Nutrient Removal and Soil Improvement in Rice Cultivation

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
This study evaluates the environmental trade‐offs of different rice husk management strategies using a life cycle assessment (LCA) approach. It compares biochar production for water treatment and soil improvement with direct incineration for energy generation.

Sustainable Lignin@ZnO Hybrid Materials: Synthesis, Characterization, and Preliminary Biostimulant Assessment in Tomato Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
This study explores the synthesis of lignin‐based ZnO hybrid materials, combining the bioactive potential of lignin with the role of zinc as a plant micronutrient. In vivo experiments on tomato plants highlighted the controlled nutrient delivery capacity of the hybrid compared to ZnO alone.
