Production of Phytoalexin in PEA Roots
1989Abstract Pea was used as a model plant to investigate the capacity of roots for production of phytoalexin pisatin and the degree of its release into the environment from roots. The rate of pisatin production can be determined as the amount released into hydroponic solution during 24 h.

Thiarubrine production in roots and root cultures of Ambrosia chamissonis
2008Ambrosia chamissonis (Asteraceae) provides antibiotic sulphur heterocyclic polyynes known as thiarubrines and thiophenes. They occur in all parts of the plant, especially in the roots and can be visualized in hand sections. Methods were developed for their isolation, purification and quantification.

Biosynthetic Potential of Hairy Roots for Production of New Natural Products
2012Metabolite profile of transgenic roots may differ from that of parental plant, but this feature is not necessarily a disadvantage. The review focuses on new substances produced in hairy roots as a result of tumorous root formation by itself or in combination with different treatments and/or genetic engineering manipulations.
