Analysis of the impacts of Common Agricultural Policy on plant production in the Czech Republic

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2011
Common agricultural policy has fundamentally projected itself into the business management of individual agricultural businesses. The submission addresses the assessment of the effects of subsidy policy on the production, costs and profit of agricultural

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

ESTIMATION OF ECONOMIC AND ALLOCATIVE EFFICIENCIES RELATIVE TO STOCHASTIC FRONTIER PROFIT FUNCTION [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This paper presents a stochastic frontier profit function model. The (frontier) optimal demand functions for variable inputs are derived from this model, and used to calculate the allocative efficiency of individual variable inputs. These models are used

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

The Determination of a Company Production under the Conditions of Minimizing the Production Costs, but Also Profit Maximization

open access: yesEIRP Proceedings, 2020
The paper deals with the problem of determining the production of a company under the conditions in which it wants both the minimization of the production costs and the maximization of the profit.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Estimating Supply Response in the Presence of Technical Inefficiency Using the Profit Function: An Application to Ethiopian Agriculture [PDF]

open access: yes
Studies of supply response using the profit function have typically maintained the neo- classical assumption of efficiency. Using farm-level data from Northern Ethiopia, this study examines the impact of technical inefficiency on the response of small ...

CLOSED-LOOP SUPPLY CHAIN WITH DELIVERY LEAD TIME ON DIRECT AND INDIRECT CHANNEL

open access: yesBarekeng, 2020
The responsbility of protecting the environment rest with all parties, including manufacturers. Therefore, manufacturers reprocess their used products. Mathematically, it can be explained by closed-loop supply chain (CLSC) model. CLSC is a system that is
