Specification and estimation of nonstandard profit functions [PDF]
Empirical Economics, 2006 This paper critically examines appropriateness of the nonstandard profit function (NSPF) as a tool for measuring profit efficiency. We show that there are some fundamental problems with the NSPF approach, the way it is currently specified and estimated. This is true irrespective of whether technical inefficiency is included or not.

FEBS Letters, EarlyView.Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.
