Embedded CRISPRi Enhances Gene‐Silencing Efficiency in Drosophila

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current CRISPR interference (CRISPRi) technology in Drosophila has limited efficiency. This study introduces the emCRISPRi platform, which significantly enhances transcriptional silencing efficacy by embedding inhibitory domains within the dCas9 architecture.

Polymorphism of BoLA-DRB3 in Semen and Its Influence on Progeny Derived from Semen with Resistance and Susceptibility to Bovine Leukemia Virus Proviral Load

open access: yesPathogens
Bovine leukemia virus (BLV) is widespread globally and causes economic losses in the cattle industry. BoLA-DRB3 is a polymorphic gene associated with the BLV proviral load (PVL), which correlates with disease progression and transmission risk.

Effects of Maternal and Posthatch Dietary Oils and Vitamin E on Antioxidant Capability and Muscle Quality of the Progeny Broilers

open access: yesThe Journal of Poultry Science, 2012
Effects of maternal and posthatch dietary oils and vitamin E (VE) on antioxidant capability and muscle quality of the progeny broilers were studied. Two-factor experiment was designed, there were two main effects, one was oil source, the other was VE ...

A Testis‐Specific Aralkylamine N‐Acetyltransferase Regulates Dimorphic Sperm Function and Male Fertility in Moths

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identify a Lepidoptera‐conserved testis‐specific arylalkylamine N‐acetyltransferase (LTNAT) that governs male moth fertility via a novel mechanism. LTNAT loss disrupts eupyrene sperm mitochondrial derivatives and impairs apyrene sperm motility, offering a safe molecular target for innovative pesticides and genetic pest control.

Maternal Preconception Antibiotic Exposure Disrupts Microbial Succession: A Transgenerational Risk for Offspring Gut Mucosal Immaturity and Colitis Susceptibility

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that maternal antibiotic exposure prior to conception disrupts intergenerational gut microbial succession. By enhancing maternal‐offspring microbial transmission, altering microbial developmental trajectories and increasing selective pressures during community assembly, these disturbances lead to persistent gut mucosal immaturity and

Genome‐Wide Association Study Reveals Insect Genetics and Microbial Symbiont Effects on Susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the Citrus Greening Pathogen, Candidatus Liberibacter Asiaticus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the genetic and microbial factors influencing the susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the citrus greening pathogen Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas), employing a microbiome Genome Wide Association Study. The research identifies a key gene encoding an MFS‐type transporter contributing to CLas infectivity and abundance in
