Prognostic factors in medulloblastoma
Child's Nervous System, 1998Medulloblastoma is a highly malignant cerebellar tumor of children and, less frequently, of adults, with a tendency to early recurrence and dissemination through the cerebrospinal fluid. The prognosis has improved significantly in recent decades, in parallel with the improvement in neurosurgical techniques and the use of postoperative radiotherapy.

Prognostic factors in myelofibrosis
Pathology, 1982The prognostic significance of spleen size, hemoglobin level (Hb), platelet count and hemopoietic cellularity of the bone marrow was assessed in 33 patients with myelofibrosis. Of these 4 parameters, only the Hb (P less than 0.01) and bone marrow cellularity (P less than 0.001) were found to be useful indicators of prognosis.

Prognostic Factors for Mesothelioma
Hematology/Oncology Clinics of North America, 2005Our understanding of malignant mesothelioma has increased rapidly in the last 5 years. The prognosis remains poor for most patients, however. Radical surgery is inappropriate for most, and palliative chemotherapy can be toxic if used without care. Patient selection is crucial, and prognostic factors allow us to predict which patients are likely to ...

Prognostic factors in osteosarcoma
International Journal of Radiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, 1980Many factors enter into any study of osteosarcomas. In addition to the necessary input provided by statistical evaluation of the results of treatment. an investigator should indicate the total number of osteosarcomas seen at a given institution. Those excluded from the study with the reasons for such exclusion can then be tabulated.

Prognostic factors in liposarcoma
Cancer, 1985In a series of 99 liposarcomas, the prognostic impact of the various diagnostic and therapeutic factors was analyzed. The analysis indicated that the tumor size, histologic subtype, and x-ray density are important prognostic factors. The prognosis is also influenced by operability and treatment modalities employed. Treatment strategy should be radical,

Prognostic factors in mesothelioma
Lung Cancer, 2005Prognostic factors can help clinicians and patients when deciding a treatment plan. Patients in the best prognostic groups can be considered for more intensive or experimental therapy. Alternatively, patients in the best prognostic groups might prefer a period of observation prior to commencement of therapy.
