The prognostic implications of the electrocardiogram
The American Journal of Cardiology, 1960The electrocardiogram as applied in clinical practice is used primarily as a diagnostic instrument. Prognosis is a prediction of future events from present signs. In forecasting the probable future of the patient with heart disease the electrocardiogram provides us with objective signs which have remote as well as immediate diagnostic application.
