A single‐step tunable chiral growth of Au NRs with controllable circular dichrosim (CD) response is reported, and the application of narrow CD response for biosensing with superior Figures of Merit (FoM = RIS/linewidth) over conventional extinction‐based approach in sensitivity is demonstrated.

A characterization of local wind events in Mexico City, which occurred during MILAGRO campaign, was carried out within the framework of a lattice wind modeling approach at a meso‐β scale. Mexico City was modeled as a 2D lattice domain with a given number of identical cells. Local wind conditions at any cell were described by a state variable defined by

Abstract We study the emission from a molecular photonic cavity formed by two proximal photonic crystal defect cavities containing a small number (<3) of In(Ga)As quantum dots. Under strong excitation, we observe photoluminescence from the bonding and antibonding modes in agreement with ab initio numerical simulations.

Adaptive Control for Nonlinear Systems with Time‐Varying Control Gain
We propose a scheme for nonlinear plants with time‐varying control gain and time‐varying plant coefficients, on the basis of a plant model consisting of a Brunovsky‐type model with polynomials as approximators. We develop an adaptive robust control scheme for this plant, under the following assumptions: (i) the plant terms involve time‐varying but ...

This work is focused on studying interface waves for three canonical models, that is, interfaces formed by vacuum‐solid, solid‐solid, and liquid‐solid. These interfaces excited by dynamic loads cause the emergence of Rayleigh′s, Stoneley′s, and Scholte′s waves, respectively.

Modelos de computación paralela [PDF]
Desde los primeros días de la computación ha sido claro que, tarde o temprano, surgiría una demanda de mayor poder de computación que el que brinda la computación secuencial.

Directional spontaneous emission in photonic crystal slabs
Abstract Spontaneous emission is one of the most fundamental out‐of‐equilibrium processes in which an excited quantum emitter relaxes to the ground state due to quantum fluctuations. In this process, a photon is emitted that can interact with other nearby emitters and establish quantum correlations between them, e.g., via super and subradiance effects.
