Introduce Ladder Logic and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
2020 Annual Conference Northeast Section (ASEE-NE), 2020Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) are used in many industrial and infrastructure systems to monitor input sensors and control actuators. With progressively more demand for adaptive, robust and smart systems for manufacturing, transportation, and ...

Programmable Logic Controllers
ASME 1991 Citrus Engineering Conference, 1991The use of the programmable logic controller has advanced tremendously since its introduction in the late 1960’s. The programmable logic controller, affectionately known as the PLC in today’s industries, was first introduced as an electrical control relay replacer.

PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLERS
2004This chapter will cover the basics of programmable logic controllers (PLCs). PLCscan perform all of the functions of relay-based control systems and much more. Theyhave replaced hard-wired relay-based control systems in most industries because oftheir compact size, ruggedness, and most importantly, their ability to be easily reprogrammed.Changes in a ...

Programmable Logic Controllers
2019The chapter is devoted to programmable logic controllers (PLC). We start from the classification of PLC, their architecture and cycle of operation. Next, the main laws of Boolean algebra are shown. We show the connection between the Boolean algebra and basic logic functions used in programming of PLC.

Programmable Logic Controller based on reconfigurable logic
2009 15th International Symposium for Design and Technology of Electronics Packages (SIITME), 2009The paper presents an idea of a Programmable Logic Controller for binary control implemented in an FPGA device with use of custom designed implementation tools. It is an extension of previously proposed architecture that is mainly limited by hardwired connection. Based on connection resources available in FPGA the new architecture is proposed. Possible

Simulation of programmable logic controller
Computers & Industrial Engineering, 1992Abstract The development and test of a PLC control program takes time, increases equipment down-time, and might damage hardware due to program errors. All of these problems can be eliminated if there is a computer simulation system for testing control programs off line.

Modeling programmable logic controllers for logic verification
IEEE Control Systems, 1994Verification method has been developed for determining the safety and operability of programmable logic controller (PLC) based systems. The method automatically checks sequential logic embedded in PLCs and provides counterexamples if it finds errors. The method consists of a system model, assertions, and a model checker.

Programmable logic controllers
The technical means that have now become the basic ones for building modern process control systems, such as programmable logic controllers, are considered. Section I consistently outlines the structural and architectural principles of controller design and operation, and provides an overview of devices available on the foreign and domestic market ...openaire +1 more source
