MELDRETH DRIBBLE‐CONTROL PROJECT
Child: Care, Health and Development, 1979Summary Seven subnormal spastic children aged 15–16 years, who had the additional problem of profuse dribbling, were trained to associate an auditory cue, from a small box pinned to their clothes, with swallowing. A significant reduction in dribble rate was obtained for all children within the first week.

Abstract The management of a project must be geared to the achievement of objectives. The fulfilment of objectives is based on the capability to identify and quantify the activities to be developed, to control their execution and to assign responsibilities for their execution. This means planning and control according to a logical procedure.

In this chapter we introduce statistical project control methods. We focus on the problems of determining whether project-generated data fall within or outside specification limits. The examples included in this chapter address construction quality problems, earned-value management, and project performance prediction.

Project Monitoring and Project Control
2012This chapter covers all areas that need monitoring and control during the execution of the project; this is done by using specific tools, methods and procedures; every tool is explained, templates suggested and examples developed. For the most important aspects, i.e. monitoring and cost control, actual cases are proposed using ‘hand solving’ as well as

Agile methods like eXtreme Programming (XP, cf. [2]) are grass rooted. They derive from practicioneers and focus on their needs. Therefore, at the beginning, project controlling was not in the focus of agile methods. The paper shows how to integrate simple mechanisms for project controlling. These mechanisms address both developers and management needs.
