Analyzing cavity evolution and motion characteristics of asynchronous parallel oblique water-entry super-cavitating projectile

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao
Based on the volume of fluid multiphase flow model and the overset mesh technique, a numerical method for an asynchronous parallel oblique water-entry super-cavitating projectile was established.

Exploration of Wave Development during Yarn Transverse Impact

open access: yesFibers, 2017
Single yarns have been impacted in a transverse fashion so as to probe the characteristics of resulting wave development. Longitudinal wave speeds were tracked in efforts to directly measure the yarn tensile stiffness, resulting in a slight increase in ...

The projectile inside the loop

open access: yesPhysics Education, 2006
In this paper we describe an alternative use of the loop-the-loop apparatus, which can be used to study an interesting case of projectile motion. We also present an effective way to perform and analyze these experiments, by using video capture software together with a digital video camera.

Setting the Record Straight: The Intellectual Legacy of H. Igor Ansoff (1918–2002)

open access: yesStrategic Change, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study presents a comprehensive annotated bibliography of H. Igor Ansoff's intellectual contributions, addressing significant gaps in existing citation databases such as Scopus and Web of Science, which capture only 9 to 15 percent of his work.

Military lands provide an opportunity to recover red wolves

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, EarlyView.
Red wolf (Canis rufus) recovery remains challenging, with only one population persisting and no reintroductions since 1998. Despite extensive, biodiverse properties in the Southeast with conservation mandates, military lands have been overlooked. In our paper, we evaluate them as a potential path forward for red wolf reintroduction sites.

Application of 3D scanning technology in Royal Malaysian Air Force Industrial Revolution 4.0‐based aircraft maintenance

open access: yesIET Networks, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract 3D scanning is rapidly becoming a key maintenance tool. Aerospace was a pioneer in adopting 3D scanning technology because aircraft manufacture and maintenance require precision. Monitoring deterioration, removing components for maintenance, and verifying covert operations are not practical or helpful without technology.

Cougar density on the Oregon Coast: Using dead recovery modeling in an open population

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, EarlyView.
The primary objective of this study was to determine cougar density in western Oregon. Our results demonstrate that integrating DNA collected via bio‐darting, mandatory hunter‐harvest check‐ins, and GPS collar data into the OPCR2 is a reliable method for estimating cougar densities in densely forested coastal systems.

The Influence of Infill Density on the Impact Behavior of 3D‐Printed PLA Parts

open access: yesMacromolecular Symposia, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The study focuses on the experimental determination of the impact behavior of PLA components manufactured through additive manufacturing, where the infill density of each tested specimen is varied. The evaluation of the impact energy absorbed by each configuration provides relevant insights into the influence of internal structure on ...

Factors Influencing Secondary Traumatic Stress in Pediatric Nurses: An Integrative Review

open access: yesResearch in Nursing &Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Secondary traumatic stress is a significant occupational concern in pediatric nursing because frequent exposure to traumatic events can compromise nurses' emotional health, increase burnout, and reduce the quality of care. The aim of this integrative review is to synthesize the current evidence on the prevalence and contributing factors of ...
